BEND IT LIKE BARDOT

HEAVY EMBELLISHMENTS

Flamboyant brides, rejoice! One of the main trends for 2019 is 'heavy embellishments'. (Read: the more lace, plumes, embroidery, flowers and pearls, the better.) In this case, more is more!

ROYAL FEVER

Looks like we’re not the only ones suffering from royal wedding mania. Meghan Markle hasn't even walked down the aisle yet, and we're already seeing her effect on bridal fashion. From glittering tiaras, to regal styles that felt very similar to some of history’s most iconic royal brides, most of the collections we saw had something fit for a princess.

STATEMENT BOWS

If we had any doubt bows were here to stay, Spring 2019's wedding dresses wiped that right out. Oversized, statement bows were everywhere! Not only around the waist and on the back, but also around the sleeves, the bust and the neck.  Cute and stylish, we love it!

THE RETURN OF THE BALL GOWN

The Royal Wedding effect keeps trickling down this list of trends. After seasons of lithe sheaths, and A-line creations dominating the runways, many designers welcomed the return of the full-figured ball gown. Princess brides are having quite a year. For those of us who loved Disney, looks like you can have your princess moment and live happily ever after.

JUMPSUITS AND PANTS

Jumpsuits for brides have been on the rise for some time, but in 2019 we will also see trousers in two parts more often. It is predicted that brides will especially choose pants during the reception because let’s be honest, dragging a long dress through greeting your guests can be somewhat tiring. If it was acceptable, I would wear my unicorn onesie, but apparently that’s a little too comfortable…

THE SUPER PLUNGE

We are pretty sure your groom will love to see you in this! The deep v is getting deeper and deeper. Designer snuck in some illusion netting into the décolletage and took v-necks almost to the navel this season. The result: an ultra-sexy bridal look that still feels appropriate. Remember, there’s a thin line between sexy and slutty, sometimes just giving them a glimpse will have their imagination running wild!

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

Clean lines, simple tailoring, and just a hint of 90s nostalgia. This trend is perfect for brides who’re not into lace, pearls or ruffles and would love to get married in a timeless dress.

LE METALLIC, C'EST CHIC

Good news for the anti-white brides-to-be! Metallics— bronze, silver, gold, copper —ruled the runways, and are the perfect statement for a bride who's all about glitz and glamour!
